Joye 510 E-Cigarette Review

So my friends over at Unsmoke have recently sent me a Joye 510 e-cigarette in order to review here on E-Cig Reviews! I decided to compare the 510 to the M401 in order to highlight each model’s strengths and weaknesses. Also known as the Titan, Yeti, or Dura-C, the Joye 510 e-cigarette is one of the most popular e-cig models on the market today. The kit I received for the purposes of this review was a 510 lite Starter Kit, with similar kits available on MadVapes here. The lite kit comes with the following items:
  • 510 atomizer (1)
  • 510 battery (1)
  • Delrin Drip Tip
  • 3mL sample of e-liquid (Specify the flavor in comments section of the order)

The Unsmoke 510 Starter Kit (Lite)

This model of 510 uses a manual battery, which means that you need to push a button down in order to create vapor. This is in contrast to my M401 e-cig, which has an automatic battery activated by sound. I find that I can control the vapor flow better with the manual battery, however the automatic battery is good for times when I need to use my e-cig hands free (such as when driving). The manual battery on the other hand has the advantage when you’re anywhere with loud music (such as concerts), as loud noises tend to activate certain types of automatic batteries by accident.

The 510 e-cig in Black

One aspect where the 510 excels is in vapor production. The 510 e-cigarette produces a much thicker vapor than my M401 e-cigarette does, and in a huge quantity. However, despite the difference in vapor production, I found the throat hit of both e-cigs to be roughly the same. The Delrin drip tip included in the starter kit makes it very easy to drip e-liquid directly on to the atomizer. Rather than having to replace or refill cartridges, you simply drip your e-liquid through the top of the drip tip (which is hollow) and on to the atomizer. The 510 has a recessed atomizer, which can hold much more e-liquid than the M401. I can usually get about 20 puffs on the 510 before I need to add another drop of liquid versus 10-12 puffs for the M401.

The M410 and Joye 510 (with drip tip) e-cigs side by side

The 510 is slightly shorter than my M401, and has a nice sturdy feel to it. The only real flaw of the 510 is the battery life. With my M401 e-cigarette I generally get about a day and a half of battery life while vaping moderately. The 510 tends to last me about 3/4 of a day in comparison. This problem can be remedied however by keeping an extra battery with you, preferably in an e-cig case. In conclusion, the Joye 510 is a great model e-cig which produces a substantial amount of vapor. The manual battery included in the kit also makes it great to bring with me to clubs and bars, where the bass of the music tends to set off my M401 by itself. Pros
  • Produces large amounts of vapor
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Battery life can be short at times
