Over the past few weeks, I have received quite a few e-mails with people asking me questions on what the best ecig is. However, all types of e-cigarettes have their own strengths and weaknesses. As someone who has been able to test and review many types of e-cigs, I have been able to determine out which models I believe are good for certain situations, and which models excel in others. I previously wrote about this subject, however I consider it to be a bit outdated now, especially with the advent of numerous tank mods.
Feel free to leave your own thoughts and opinions on your favorite ecig model and why!
Joye 510 (Review)
The Joye 510 is an excellent ecig for those who are looking for a small form factor electronic cigarette, and resembles as closely of a cigarette as possible. Additionally, the Joye 510 atomizer creates large
amounts of tasty vapor. The downside to the 510 is its poor battery life. Heavy vapers will be lucky if the battery lasts for an entire day. Unless you use a cartomizer, the 510 will require frequent dripping of e-liquid. For those of you unsure of vaping in general, I suggest trying unsmoke’s 510 starter kit. It comes with everything you need to get started, and is affordable.
- Resembles a real cigarette in both size and look
- 510 atomizer produces large amounts of vapor
- Requires frequent refilling of carts or dripping with e-liquid
- Possible solution:
- Purchase catomizers
- Possible solution:
- Short battery life
Joye eGo-T (Review)
The eGo-T uses a tank system and has a powerful battery. The tank system works great, and each puff has a large, consistent vapor hit. Not having to worry about refilling makes the eGo-T a great e-
cig to use in the car. Tho downside to this model is that it is larger than a traditional cigarette. The (potential) downside with this model is that it is larger than a traditional cigarette, and is closer in size to a cigar, especially with the mega battery.
For those of you looking for a good tank kit, I recommend Volcano’s Inferno-T. The Inferno-T kit uses the same components as the eGo-T, and is well priced for whats included in the kit.
- Tank system creates large vapor clouds without frequent refilling.
- Larger battery lasts much longer, especially for heavy vapers.
- Much larger than a traditional cigarette, doesn’t resemble a cigarette

With many electronic cigarette models on the market these days, many people are asking the same question: what is the best e-cigarette? The answer to this question is a little bit complex, and depends on who you ask. Various e-cigarette models have their own individual strengths and weaknesses, and it is up to you to determine what you are looking for from an e-cigarette.
The first step to take before deciding to purchase an e-cig is to head on over to the e-cigarette reviews section of this site and familiarize yourself with the strengths and weaknesses of each model of electronic cigarette. For example, the Green Smoke e-cig creates a large amount of vapor, which makes the throat hit feel more like that of a real cigarette in comparison to some other brands. However, the it is a little on the pricier side, and may be too expensive for some. Other models such as the Volcano e-cig come at lower cost and the Volcano includes an e-cigarette pack that charges your Volcano on the go.
After reading the reviews of various e-cigarette models, you will need to decide on which qualities you are looking for in your e-cigarette. For some, the best e-cigarette is one that produces a lot of vapor (even if the battery doesn’t last as long as other models). Other people may be looking for a solution that allows them to manually drip e-liquid directly on their atomizer, which a more cost-effective solution than replacing empty cartridges. Some people however may be looking for e-cig mods such as the REO Mini e-cig. Mods are generally not as reliable as a traditional e-cigarette, but they do have some advantages. For example, some mods are large but produce a substantial amount of vapor in comparison to mini e-cigarette models.
In summary, there is currently no best e-cigarette on the market today. However, if you do some basic research before buying, then it is likely that you will end up with the best e-cigarette for your needs.
Good luck and happy vaping!
A year ago today, I was still a smoker. I enjoyed waking up in the morning and having a coffee along with a smoke. However, after smoking for a few years, I was starting to feel all the negative effects that come with cigarette smoking. I would get coughing fits, and the smell of cigarettes constantly lingered on all of my clothes. Cigarette smoking also made physical activity more strenuous, as I was constantly gasping for breath. I love sports and play hockey along with downhill skiing and golf, so I no longer wanted my performance to be hampered due to cigarettes.
Last year while in New York City for New Years Eve 2010, I decided to follow my new years resolution decision to quit smoking for good. Having done some research prior to making my resolution, I learned about both Swedish Snus and e-cigarettes and their potential for use as reduced harm alternatives to cigarette smoking. Since then, I have enjoyed using both snus and e-cigarettes (my first e-cigarette was an M401, and I still have it today!).
Today, almost a year since I quit smoking, I use both snus and an e-cigarette, alternating between them when I feel like it. Despite enjoying the occasional cigar every once and a while, I haven’t touched another cigarette since December 31st, 2009, at 11:56 PM. Since quitting, I have felt much better and never get coughing fits anymore. I am also no longer forced to go outside to smoke, as neither snus or e-cigarettes create an offensive smoke like cigarettes do. Thanks to my increased lung capacity, I find myself no longer out of breath while partaking in physical activity.
For those of you who still smoke cigarettes, I highly recommend making quitting smoking your number one resolution for New Years 2011. Not only will you feel better, but you’ll also be pleasantly surprised at how you can continue enjoying nicotine in far safer ways than cigarette smoking.
